- Home Pieces of You
By: Denise Brackman

I received a box the other day,
and inside were pieces of you.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box,
was the smell of your cologne.
As I sifted through its contents,
I found many things.
Some of these things were old,
some new,
all of them were pieces of you.
I remember sitting on your lap as a little girl,
and you singing old songs to me.
It was my favorite spot to be.
I always sat up there to get warm,
but also for the singing.
What memories we made that you gave me to hold on to after you were gone.
I think of you often daddy,
and feel you when your watching over me.
Until we meet again daddy,
to make new memories.
