- Home MacArthur Grant Rant
By: Hubert Wilson

Mailbox again bare!
Ain't no grant award notice there!
Cannot my genius be rewarded?
All be it a bit poetically sordid!
Rare indeed is my talent!
Totally modest - and yet so gallant!
Hour after hour I enjoy my work!
Ultimately - am I my only perk?
Rating myself as a great world mind!

Fated just for the Foundation to find!
Excelling in the ideas of John D.!
Located eventually by trustees of Catherine T.?
Loving just my part of humanity!
Offering up myself as perfection - is not vanity!
Will I receive my due recognition another day?
Surely for my poetic bouquets they will pay - or so I say!

About this poem:
Oh well, back to my ever so cleverly disguised life of brilliant poetic commentary.
